Welcome to a city full of charm, culture, and a good time! The one thing you will notice right when you arrive in central Lisbon is the beautiful cobblestone streets. Because Lisbon is a walking city, do not forget to pack your comfortable pair of shoes to walk around - very important!!! Go wander around some popular areas areas including Biarro Alto and Ciado.

Below, you will find some things to do and see while you're here :)

Avenida da Liberdade

Did someone say shopping? Avenida Da Liberdade is the 5th Ave of NYC or the Champs-Élysées of Paris. Here, you will find all the designer brands and more. If you are looking treat yourself -- look no further! Recommendation: if you did make that big purchase and want to get VAT tax back, make sure to bring your physical passport and/or passport details to the store with you. Also, there can be lines at the Lisbon (LIS) airport for this, so go to the airport a little earlier than normal to get your tax refund!

Sintra

Spend the day in beautiful Sintra! Grab a Bolt/Uber or catch the train/subway to Sintra from Lisbon’s Center and spend the day feeling like true royalty exploring the gorgeous palaces and castles. Some highlights include Pena Palace, Castelo dos Mouros, and Quinta da Regaleira. You can do these on foot, join a tour, or hire a tour guide.

Once you've got your steps in, take a 5 euro car or tuk tuk to the center village for a bite! Enjoy an amazing sandwich at Cafe Saudade and treat yourself to Sintra's famous dessert, travesseiro, at Casa Piriquita.

LX Factory

If you're looking for a pit stop one day in Lisbon, definitely take a quick car ride to Alcântara and check out LX Factory! Not only will you get some great IG pics, but you'll also appreciate how a factory from 1846 was transformed into a place people come to visit, while still maintaining that industrial vibe. Here, you will find a bunch of small shops and a very cool bookstore!

Belem Tower

If it's not too hot, head towards the water and check out Belém Tower! This 16th-century fortification served as a point for Portuguese explorers to embark and disembark from their ships, and as a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon. Recommendation: buy tickets online to avoid the lines!
